Make filled forms final. Flattening turns interactive fields into regular page content so values cannot be edited and look the same in every viewer.

Flatten before you send

Signed agreements and filled government forms should be flattened before sharing so recipients see exactly what you filled in.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. PDFroo processes your files inside your own browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded, so your documents never leave your device and there is nothing for us to store or delete.

Why flatten a PDF?

Flattening prevents accidental or intentional changes to filled forms and ensures signatures, stamps and annotations display identically everywhere.

What does “Everything as image” do?

It renders every page into a high-quality image, permanently baking in annotations and removing hidden layers or text underneath white-out boxes. Text becomes non-selectable.

Does flattening make the file bigger?

“Form fields only” usually keeps the size similar. “Everything as image” can increase or decrease size depending on the content.
